Description

The landscape design for Karma house provides a range of outdoor spaces for its resident students and visitors. An 'urban forest' of densely planted birch trees provides greening and softening to the streetscape at the entrance whilst allowing free pedestrian movement on the pavement. The south garden offers space for formal and informal interaction. A large picnic / outdoor study table. A sunny lawn space for relaxing. The roof of the ancillary building accommodates planted areas with mounds to allow sufficient soil depth for tree planting. A mix of low herbaceous and grasses planting acts as groundcover and provides a green carpet.
