Beaulieu
Beaulieu Park, (Zone C) Chelmsford NA
Description
Beaulieu Zone C forms part of a wider masterplan to build 3600 new homes at Beaulieu Park, a new sustainable garden suburb located on the northern edge of Chelmsford. In response to its setting, existing landscape features have informed the design approach. Through careful analysis of historical field boundaries coupled with the retention of existing mature hedgerows, ditches, trees and Bridleway have created a landscape framework that has enlightened the design and placement of homes within a series of distinct character areas. As part of the wider masterplan a Linear Park is provided directly to the south of the site. A variety of amenity provision is endowed throughout the development including front and rear gardens with large terraces at upper levels offering views towards the mature landscape setting.
Planning History
The design for Beaulieu Zone C was developed in close consultation with Chelmsford City Council's Planning Authority, and Officers from their respective Technical departments as well as Essex County Council Highways. The pre-application process commenced in February 2012 and included two design reviews with the Essex Design Review Panel in December 2012 and March 2013. Two Public Consultations were also held in December 2012 and June 2013. Following continued consultation with Chelmsford City Council Planning Authority a planning application was submitted in December 2015.
