Brook Valley Gardens
Hera Avenue Enfield EN5 2FJ
Description
The central green space at Croft Green will be re-landscaped to provide a strong link between the existing and new residential communities. A variety of character areas will be created within this new Community Green, ranging from lawns for communal events and passive play to seasonal flower gardens and bulb planting. Seating will provide opportunities for residents to rest and view their surroundings. The new Community Green will be open in character framed by large scale native trees which reinforce the geometry of the site and visually connect the existing court to the west with the proposed new apartment block and communal hub. A number of existing broadleaf trees will be retained to provide a historical connection and sense of maturity. 1A series of green walks will connect the new and existing buildings, providing sheltered pedestrian routes linking east to west through the central space. The landscape design integrates the two sides of the development providing a focus towards the new community building. This will engage the whole community to the new facility and provide a more accessible environment for the older residents.
Planning History
The scheme was presented at a Pre-Application meeting in July 2014 and submitted for Planning in October 2014. With the full support of the Planning Committee, Croft Green was granted a planning consent in December 2014.
