Description

The new masterplan has also allowed for the creation of extensive private and public space. During consultation it was clear that residents wanted their own private outdoor space, a feature lacking from the previous site. The new masterplan has allowed for the majority of dwellings to have their own gardens. The new scheme also includes the creation of a large secure public space in the centre of the site.

Planning History

The design was developed in close consultation with Eastleigh Borough Council, in design workshops chaired by the Case officer and attended by all key stakeholders. Alongside the design process, there were a number of Consultation events, for existing and prospective tenants, together with residents from neighboring streets. This allowed for a speedy and efficient planning process that culminated in a unanimous approval at Committee.
