Description

In keeping with the high quality amenity brought by the trees and open space of Avenue Road Park, the scheme will also deliver high quality semi-private courtyards and private amenity space. Balconies overlooking the park are oversized to provide extra amenity for residents. The large communal courtyard for residents in Blocks W1, 2, 3 and 4 is very large and well overlooked, safe, and accessible. Generous amenity space is also provided for Blocks E1 and E2, and block S1 benefits from its position adjacent to the park. High quality shared surface streets, private rear gardens, courtyard gardens, balconies and roof terraces all contribute to the high quality amenity offered by the development.

Planning History

As advisors for the South Acton estate regeneration project, Stitch assisted Acton Gardens in generating a revised masterplan phasing strategy to bring forward new parallel stream of development in the northern part of the estate and fast track delivery of new homes. As a result of this strategic work Stitch was appointed to design Phase 7.1, the first phase of this northern area of the estate with direct links to Acton High Street. The scheme deviated from the masterplan heights parameters and a detailed planning application was submitted. The proposals were unanimously approved in October 2015.
