Caste Mews, Folkestone
Castle Mews Castle Hill Avenue Folkestone CT20 2BU
Description
The scheme comprises a range of shared and private amenity space, both inside and outside the building. On the ground floor is a generous communal lounge which is linked to a large shared courtyard at the rear. This includes bike storage, space for barbecues and seating areas, and is strikingly landscaped to complement the interiors of the building; a large 'harlequin' pattern across the floor of the shared spaces evokes the lids of cast-iron manhole covers which were manufactured by an earlier occupant of the building.\r\nNew external entrance terraces are provided at high level to access the two storeys of apartments on the top floors of the building which are additions to the existing building.
Planning History
A planning application was submitted to Lewisham Council in October 2014 and approved on 24 August 2015.
