Kender Phase 4
Avonley Road London London SE14 5EP
Description
The scheme allows a visual 'green' link through to adjacent public open spaces, civic and religious buidlings on New Cross Road. The scheme provides amenity in good measure and balance and is characterized by tree lined streets and paths, a streetscape is integrated into its surroundings, green sedum roofs, courtyards and private roof terraces (providing activity for residents of all ages).
Planning History
The regeneration principle was established with Lewisham LPA around 2002 and has been delivered through a series of detailed planning applications and phased demolition of the existing estate and smaller associated sites. A detailed pre-application process with officers, LBL Design Panel and other stakeholders has been used at each stage to develop the detail of each phase, which has given the opportunity for lessons to be learnt from each stage and for the detail design and mix to respond to changes in funding and design & planning standards as well as changes in regulations.
