9-11 Macaulay Road
Macaulay Road, Clapham London SW4 0QP
Description
The scheme's open public squares and play areas will complement family life. A linear park for pedestrians and cyclists will connect the waterfront routes along the River Ely and the Bay, and a plaza will incorporate bars, restaurants, cafes and community facilities. Residents will benefit from the adjacent Cardiff International Sports Village (designed and delivered by Scott Brownrigg and Greenbank Partnerships), which will provide an ice arena, indoor ski slope and family 'snow world' play centres, with additional bars and restaurants.
Planning History
Cardiff City Planning Authority has been closely involved throughout the consultation process, including workshops with the client. These constructive and positive meetings ensured the masterplan fitted with the aspirations for the city and the relevant local plan. These reflect Cardiff's current status as a national capital and as a 'Capital of Culture'.\r\nConsideration has been given the issues raised, particularly street hierarchies. Due to the potential 'over sailing' aspects of the scheme, early consultations with the harbour authority ensured agreement.
